HISD is providing parents with a FREE subscription to ReadyRosie, an interactive tool that provides daily activities for adults to do with children ages 0 to 6. The activities are simple, take about two minutes, and help prepare children for success in school.
How does ReadyRosie work?
Simply watch a video, do the activity modeled in the video with your child, and everyone learns something new! The activities can be done at home, in the car, at the grocery store, restaurants, or public transportation – wherever real life happens.
The videos come right to your mobile device, tablet, or laptop. Below are examples of the types of videos you will receive.
How do I sign up for ReadyRosie?
The teachers of pre-K students will be emailing an invite to parents. However, Any HISD parent or guardian with a child or children ages 0 to 6 can register for ReadyRosie at www.readyrosie.com/register.
The registration process will ask parents for their child’s elementary school. If a child is too young to be enrolled in school, parents or guardians can enter the name of their neighborhood HISD elementary school. To find the name of your neighborhood elementary school, go to www.lybh68.com/findaschool and enter your home address.
I have registered for ReadyRosie. What’s next?
Once registered, parents will begin receiving weekly emails/and or text messages with videos and activities. The free subscription also allows parents to download the ReadyRosie mobile app for their iPhone or Android device. Parents will have access to the entire ReadyRose video library, including ReadyRosie Baby.
Pre-K and kindergarten teachers throughout HISD have access to the ReadyRosie video library and will be showing the videos to their students during the school day. Students will then be encouraged to practice the activities demonstrated in the videos with their parents at home.
